Getting to Brussels
If you are travelling to Brussels for one of the events organised by Explore.Brussels, here is some information you may find useful when organising your visit.
Travelling to Brussels:
By Air:
The main airports of Belgium all have good rail connections to Brussels. Here is a list, starting from closest to Brussels:
- Brussels Airport (13km from city centre)
- Brussels-South Charleroi Airport (50km)
- Liège Airport (90km)
- Ostend-Bruges Airport (125km)
Explore.Brussels encourages you to use "soft mobility" (train or bicycle) as much as possible.
By train:
- Thalys high-speed trains run to Brussels from France, Germany and the Netherlands. They terminate at Brussels-Midi station which is well-served by public transport (bus, tram and metro).
- Eurostar high-speed trains run to Brussels from London St Pancras International station to Brussels-Midi station, which is well-served by public transport (bus, tram and metro).
- SNCB Belgian Railways runs many services to Brussels-North, Brussels-Central, Brussels-Schumann and Brussels-Midi from Belgium and Luxembourg. All these Brussels stations are well-served by public transport (bus, tram and metro).
By bicycle:
Brussels Mobility is developing the RER vélo network of cycle routes, part of which is already open.
