Meeting Point

Rue de la loi 78 Wetstraat, 1000 Bruxelles

The former head office of the Brunner Bank was originally a Neo-Classical townhouse, built in 1860. Around 1900, the building was acquired by the Brunner Bank, which commissioned architect Léon Govaerts to redesign the interior in the Art Nouveau and Eclectic styles. Among others, Govaerts created a grand banking hall with a glass cupola in the ceiling which floods the interior with daylight. On the upper floors are lavish offices in the Louis XVI and Neo-Renaissance styles.

Work to restore the facade of the former Bank Brunner may have to start while the BANAD is ongoing. Therefore, the facade may be covered by scaffolding at the time of the visits.
