In the footsteps of Paul Cauchie: neo art nouveau in 2023

A majestic corner building on Emile Maxlaan in Schaerbeek houses an impressive sgraffito stairwell designed in the style of Paul Cauchie. As part of BANAD 2023, this exceptional neo-art-nouveau space is opening its doors to visitors. The tour will be provided in Dutch and English by the project's executor and designer: Kenneth Smet, who further specialised in historical and artisanal decoration and restoration techniques after his training at the Institut Superieur de Peinture Vanderkelen-Logelain. This gives interested parties a unique opportunity to learn about the special sgraffito technique from the artist himself.
