SATURDAY 22 and SUNDAY 23 MARCH 2025
Meeting Point
Avenue Émile de Beco 75, 1050 IxellesA delight for lovers of Modernism, the façade of the former Imprimerie des Sciences was designed in 1928 by the architect Léonard Homez, to whom we also owe other buildings erected in the Brussels Region in the same time period in a variety of styles (Art Deco, Beaux-Art, etc.) and for a variety of uses (housing, Christian worship, etc.). The double entrance, on the left towards the private apartments and on the right towards the professional area, allows for differentiated yet harmonised circulation within the building. Functional, it does not retain a great number of significant decorations or vestiges from the 1930s. On the other hand, it attests to the timeless modernity of its concept in housing the studio of Belgian designer Xavier Lust whose creations and unique pieces are valued by important collectors.
