ART NOUVEAU 1
Albert Roosenboom, 1900

The Roosenboom House, commissioned by the industrialist Bernard Louis François Beeckman from the architect Albert Roosenboom, was completed in 1900. The top floor of the façade features a sgraffiti panel by the painter and designer Privat Livemont. The rest of the façade is decorated with wrought ironwork whose design continues into the boot-scraper and the letterbox. The first floor of the façade is dominated by a magnificent bow-window. A family moved into this Art Nouveau house in September 2024 after an extensive renovation during which the original layout was restored, including access to a "storage area" for an automobile in the cellar, specially requested by the client. The original wallpapers on the first floor and a floral ceiling are due to be restored in the next few months.
