ART NOUVEAU 1
Henri Jacobs, 1907 - 1922

Henri Jacobs designed this functional school complex with great attention to detail, as was often the case in Art Nouveau buildings. The first part of the complex opened in 1913 and the rest in 1922. The facades around the courtyards inside the blocks are a polychromatic blend of Belgian bluestone and yellow and red bricks. Jacobs commissioned Privat Livemont and Maurice Langaskens to decorate the large playgrounds. The building hosts an Art Nouveau and Art Deco antiques fair and a heritage restorers' fair.
