Who is it for?

This tour is aimed specifically at people on the autism spectrum. Companions are also welcome. Visits are open to people aged 16 and over.

What is it?

The Hôtel van Eetvelde is one of Victor Horta's masterpieces, built between 1895 and 1897 for Edmond van Eetvelde, adviser to King Leopold II and Secretary General of the Independent State of Congo, then the King's private property. The building is built around a skylight decorated with a splendid glass roof with a delicate metal structure. Extended several times, this mansion and its extensions sum up the evolution of Victor Horta's style.

How is the tour adapted for people with autism?

The tour takes place at a very quiet time of day and the flow of visitors is organised so that there is no disruptive interaction with other groups. There will be no audio or video recordings to be heard or seen during the visit. The tour is led by a qualified guide experienced in working with people with autism. No later than one week before the visit begins, participants will also receive a detailed script that will enable them to prepare the visit as they wish.
