Adrien Blomme, 1930

This monumental house was built in 1928 by architect Adrien Blomme for his client, René Van Keirsbilck. Located just a stone's throw from the van Buuren house and museum, the villa is set back from the street, and its vast, sloping roof evokes the look of a country house.

Inside, however, Adrien Blomme has created a refined Art Deco atmosphere, with marble and travertine taking centre stage.

At the heart of the house, a patio leads to all the rooms. Open on two levels, this majestic central hall is enhanced by an octagonal fountain and a marble floor in the shape of a large star.

On the first floor, one room in particular catches the eye: the bathroom. Made of green and gold ceramics, it has been remarkably well preserved in its original state.
