61. Seulen House [The British International School of Brussels]

Built in the Art Deco style with floral motifs, this mansion was designed by the architect Jules Libois in 1930 for Mr and Mrs Edmond Seulen. The woodwork, fireplaces, wrought-iron grilles and the remarkable stained-glass skylights, which provide abundant natural light, have been preserved. Today, the building is home to The British International School of Brussels, which has been providing education to English-speaking children aged 3 to 11 since 2000. Making the most of this unique setting, the children continue to bring it to life by adding numerous drawings, illustrating the contemporary use of this building, which remains much loved.
